So, the guest comic request for the one year anniversary of Gamer Lamer has really been great. A bunch of people have said they will do a comic for us. What was that? They are just saying that so we would stop bugging them? Well, I got news for you! We got our first comic from Chris Simmons of Digital Unrest. Lemme say that it is kinda sad when your guest artist totally takes you to school and shows you what your comic would be like if you weren't talentless hacks. It seems from the first comic that this is going to be more of a look how we put the guys at Gamer Lamer to shame. Seriously though, I want to thank everyone who has signed on to do a strip. We are still taking submissions. So dust off your crayons and construction paper and e-mail me. I'd love to see what you got.

I have always hated my girlfriend’s love for rhythm games like DDR or Karaoke Revolution. So, when we got guitar hero, I was shocked to discover that I enjoyed the game. Nothing pulls at my white heartstrings like glam rock and guitar heroics. I think playing rock guitar is like white people catnip. It’s like some invisible force pushes the guitar into your hands and makes you play it even if you are like me and blessed with white male impaired rhythm syndrome. Anything past medium is impossible for me. My girlfriend says it’s impossible due to me never practicing at it. My opinion is the only difference between medium and expert is you have to hit more buttons and faster. It’s not like there is a different ending where they declare you the second coming or a groupie sucks you off so I don’t see a reason to get any better at it at it. You know it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have one complaint so here it is. The game designers who are in terrible bands got to put their favorite song from their bands in the game. I know they want to say it was to be nice to the programmers and what not but I tend to think it had more to do with royalties and not having to pay the designers for their terrible music. Don’t get me wrong, there are a couple of good songs but a 20:80 good-to-suck ratio is nothing to write home about. Don’t quit the day job, guys.
