Updating the Look

That Comic Creator's Alliance I posted about last raised over $10,000. Amay-zing! I am so happy.

In other news, in addition to adding new things to the site, I've updated the look of the front page to include some of the most interesting work on the site. The top 3 links are "just added" artwork, and the rest are kind of like a quick portfolio. You should still go to my actual portfolio to get the best work in its best form.

I updated ILLUSTRATION, DESIGN, ANIMATION, and FANART with new things and old things I should have added sooner. Check back soon for another update to COMICS and more added art (maybe some OLD stuff)! I'll also continue tweaking the design until I'm sure everything looks okay. There are still images that need to be updated, and et cetera.

Monday, January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. To participate, we formed the Comic Creator's Alliance--a group of over eighty comic book creators (both web and print) who volunteered our artistic talents to raise money and awareness for this cause. You may not know it, but there are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. Unlike slavery in the 19th century, what is happening today is happening in secret. So it won't end until awareness is raised, and people like you and me take a stand.

So here's what we did: each creator contributed an original drawing of one of our own female characters, and combined them into a single wallpaper image. The wallpaper features characters from The Phoenix Requiem, Girls with Slingshots, Earthsong, Looking for Group, Shadowgirls, The Uniques and four IDW Publishing titles: Fallen Angel, The Dreamland Chronicles, Love & Capes, and The Dreamer, and lots, lots more! Donate today to download this unique, once-in-a-lifetime wallpaper. The Donations Drive will last for two weeks, from January 11th - 24th. All proceeds will be split evenly between Love146 and Gracehaven House- two organizations working on rehabilitation of victims and prevention of this crime.

I just added SO many things to the site. Been putting it off forever; remind me not to do that anymore. Took me hours to go through and find out what all I had to add. Turns out it was a lot. Even old fun stuff found its way back on the site. After all, this isn't a portfolio site... (this is)

And yes, I have finally posted one short story in its entirety - one I wrote for a contest. Do go read it! I know this site layout isn't the most ideal for reading, but in this story's case it makes things go along a bit more quickly. It's very simple.

You'll notice also (if you've been here before) that the background has changed. The old one always bothered me with how poorly it came out, and this one is closer to what I originally thought to make. I might make a less patterned one eventually.

I edited a few old pictures, particularly in Design, and added some old silly things I've been wondering what to do with. Hope you enjoy!

Not Broken!

No more broken stuff!Hey! There's nothing new yet, but guess what? Everything on the site works now! Yaaaay!

If I checked everything right, there should be no more broken images or art links. Woo! I also added a ton more links out in the Links section, because I rooted through my oooold bookmarks. I've still got more to go, too... Way too many awesome artists out there.

I revised the About Me, About Site, and Comic art sections so they wouldn't be so painful to read, too. Commemorating the first time in years that this site has worked 100% and been updated! Also changed a few things here and there so the site will load more quickly and re-added the RSS link below the news. :D
