Strip 369 has been colored. Click here to see it.

Let the shenanigans begin.

In case you missed it, I did put Wednesday's strip up on Thursday, and it is still uncolored. Both today's and Wednesday's strips will be colored this weekend. The birthday week took up more of my time than I thought. Next year I'll just take the week off.

One week until the San Diego Comic-Con! I won't have a table, but I will be walking around there on Friday. Let me know if you'll be there and maybe we can meet up! And then a week after that I'll be heading to Connecticon for my first time having a table at a "big" con. Woo!

Have a good weekend folks!

Okay, here you go. Sorry it's still not colored. I guess I've learned that next time I have a birthday I should take a week off, eh? I probably won't have a chance to get this one - or Friday's - totally colored until this weekend. Next week we should be back on track, though.

In other news, Friday should be fun. Hee hee.

Oy, sorry folks, no update today. My coworkers took me out for a belated birthday celebration after work, then it was the long commute home plus 20 minutes extra because one of the subway tracks was under maintenance. I will make sure that the line art at least is posted tomorrow night. In the meantime, if you can't wait, you can click here and have a look at my rough draft for the strip. If you can read it, more power to you.

Butter churning can be very fulfilling.

<strike>Sorry about the lack of color today, but I did warn you. My birthday weekend left me with little time to work on the comic, but if it's any consolation I had a lot of fun.</strike> In fact, my lovely and very talented wife made the greatest cake in the world - a Bardsworth University cake! You can see a picture of it if you click one (or both) of the voting buttons. It's really cool, and it's really yummy (we still have a ton of it left).

By the way, before some of you start asking, I'll answer this. Yes, I realize that it's July right now, but in the world of the comic it's near Christmas-time, which is why there are wreaths on the entrance to the mall. I know most comics tend to revolve their stories around the real world timeline, but I don't do that. Just one more thing that makes me different.

All right, nothing else right now. See you Wednesday.

Those darn stop signs tend to jump out at you.

Positive reviews are still coming in for the Bardsworth book. Don't forget to order your copy today. What, you forgot? Let me remind you - order your copy today at the Bardsworth store.

Okay, enough shameless promotion.

Just a warning - Monday's strip may be in black and white. The reason for that is that it's my birthday this weekend (the 13th), and there will be much merriment... and much cleaning of the apartment before and after said merriment. So just giving you a heads up.

Have yourselves a great weekend!

Never let it be said that the offer of free food can be turned away.

I've received word from a few people that they've received their books, and the response has been positive, which makes me feel really good. It's one thing to be proud of it, but it's another thing to here good things from the people that I made it for. And for those of you who don't have it yet, remember that it's now officially on sale in the Bardsworth store.

Nothing much else to say right now. See you on Friday!

Bardsworth Update

I'm struggling to think of a carpet-related joke to type here, but nothing's coming to me.

Today is not only the start of a sub-storyline, but we are also moving back into the Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule. I'm apprehensive to do so, as I never did build up the buffer I wanted to, but I'm also excited because I miss the rhythm of a 3-day schedule. There are two caveats, however. One is that there may be some line-art-only strips that go up as I try to get back into the swing of things. The second is that I'm no longer doing 5-day updates for every $100 donated. There's just no way I'll be able to do that for you guys what with everything that's changed in my personal life. Someday down the road I might be able to start it up again. I will, however, continue to do new wallpapers for donators for every $50 donated, and for every $100.00 I will design a wallpaper for everyone to download.

In other news, all the preordered books were shipped out on Saturday. Those of you who ordered First Class should get them pretty soon, Media Mail a little later than soon, and International... well, you guys are farther away. So I'm happy to finally get those out to all of you. The rest of that news is that the book is now officially on sale to everyone in the Bardsworth store. All purchased copies will be signed, and Artist Editions will have a penciled and inked character sketch on the inside front cover. All purchases are made through PayPal (credit cards also accepted).

Two more quick things. You can take a quick gander at photos from the Bardsworth book release party at my Flickr account. I've also put some new artwork in my deviantART account for the first time in a while (any pin-up fanatics out there should love this one).

And that's all for now. See you on Wednesday!

See? Tammy can be kind and loving. Sort of.

First and foremost, for anyone who preordered the Bardsworth book - they will definitely be shipped out this Saturday. I have a stack of envelopes sitting on my floor and all I need to do is stuff the books and receipts in each one and then drive them to the post office. Then, on Monday, the book will officially be up for sale in the Bardsworth store. Huzzah!

And since all my book work will be done, next week I am shifting back to the old M-W-F schedule. This will take some adjusting on my part, so there might be some occassional non-colored strips that go up, but we'll muddle through. I want to kick back into the three-times-a-week schedule, though, because I have a sub-storyline starting next week, and it's one that I don't want to have to drag out too much.

I think that's all. The clock is just striking midnight as I'm typing this and my beer glass is almost empty, so I think it's about time to head to bed. Have yourselves a great weekend, folks (and to my United States brothers and sisters, happy 4th of July)!

"It's even harder to believe that the fairy is winning."

Sorry about the lack of promised updates. There really wasn't all that much to say. And what there was I will say now.

First of all, more than a few people have posed the question regarding Tammy's blase attitude towards Fawn. It's true that Tammy hasn't actually met Fawn before, but she has met Francis, as seen in this strip. In my mind, once you've met a seven foot demon and your brother is going to school to learn magic, a fairy won't really faze you much. Especially when there's brother-harassing to do.

The book release party last week was a success. It was 99% coworkers and friends, but it was still a lot of fun. I will have pictures to share soon (when I actually have 20 minutes to upload pictures to my Flickr account).

As for the preorders, I'm finally done with drawing in all of them. I just have to spend the time to print out my postage labels and I will get them to the post office early this week. So they're coming your way soon!

You can read a quick Behind-the-Scenes update in the forum by clicking here.

And that's it for now. See you guys on Thursday.

Ooo, Fawn has met her match.

Quick update today, folks. Just want to let you know that the books are almost all sketched and signed, and will hopefully be sent out sometime this week. So the wait is almost over! Then, as soon as these go out, there will be a new t-shirt design going up for preorder. If you check out the forums, you already know what it is.

Connecticon is officially a go now. I just purchased my airline tickets (stupid fuel prices...) so everything is taken care of. I hope to see some of you there!

And because it's taking place tomorrow, here is the announcement for the book release party. It will be June 24th (a week from this Tuesday) from 6pm to 9pm at Vin de Pays wine store (252 Elm Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802). All are welcome to come. There will be free wine (for those of legal age), free energy drinks (courtesy of Bawls), and free cookies (which Katie and I will be baking ourselves). It'll be a hoot, so if you can make it please drop by!

See you on Thursday!

Well come on, G.I. Joe only had Scarlet and Lady Jane, right? You gotta fill in the gaps somehow.

<strike>Sorry the comic is sans color today, dudes and dudettes. This was an insane week for me at my day job, and then add in the preparations for the book release party and we have a recipe for disaster. Someday Bardsworth will be my full time job, but until then these things are gonna happen from time to time. I'll try to get the colors done tomorrow night.</strike>

Speaking of the book release party, in case you missed the announcement on Monday, here it is again.
That's about all I got right now. Exhaustion is starting to kick in and I'm not sure how much more stress (physical and mental) my body can take at this point. So good night, fare well, and see you on Monday.

He's lucky - in some states the punishment is a wedgie. In Texas, it's an atomic wedgie.

Here's a big announcement that won't affect the majority of you unfortunately, but for those of you who live near the Long Beach, CA area, the date of my book release party has been set.

In other news, in response to my post on Friday about body types, I received this lovely contribution from previous fan art contributor paisleypear of our curvy elf maiden. I love it and I hope you guys do, too.

Still working on those sketches for you folks who preordered books. I'll hopefully have them done by the end of this week or, at the very latest, early next week.

Catch you on Thursday.

Bardsworth Update

She's a one person three-ring circus.

Let me take a moment to address something that came up in the shoutbox yesterday, because I can't convey as much as I'd like in the limited amount of space there. I am very open to constructive criticism and I'm always willing to admit when something is wrong with my drawing (if you read the forum, you'll notice that I regularly call myself out on things that I know I did wrong). However, there is a definite line between constructive criticism and negative reinforcement. Please leave the latter out of the shoutbox.

Another issue that was brought up, and it was discussed a bit in the forum, is the fact that my characters have differing body types. I will not draw "anime-ish" stick-thin females with giant boobs. I know our culture has us believing that stick-thin is beautiful, but I whole-heartedly disagree with that line of thinking (not that thin women can't be beautiful, but that's not the point I'm trying to make). Life is mixture of different colors, sizes, etc. and I try to reflect that in the comic. So please keep that in mind before you comment on a character's body type.

I've warmed up the soapbox. Anyone else want a go?

Have a good weekend, folks.
