You might have noticed that this was updated pretty early. I've been having all sorts of problems with my laptop, so I wanted to get the strip out of the way so I can do a hard drive wipe and reinstall of everything. Should be loads of fun. Bleh.

3/11/10 - Busted.

A bit of a warning - this particular storyline is going to get a bit dramatic.

3/8/10 - The power of an attractive girl is formidable indeed.

Last week I was able to confirm my presence at two upcoming conventions. The first is SPACE (Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo) in Columbus, OH, which will be a first for me. The second is ConnectiCon in Hartford, CT, and this will be my third year there. So if you happen to be near either of those locations and would like to see me, click on the links for the conventions in question and get yourself registered!

Not much to report. I'm a little behind on doing Bardic Musings posts, and I need to get a new voting incentive up, so look for both of those things next week (hopefully).

Well, I had a pretty miserable weekend. I got hit with a nasty flu bug, which is mostly out of my system now, but which prevented me from going skiing on Friday. But at least I got the comic done, right?

2/25/10 - I wonder who was more convincing.

This is it, folks, the moment you've been waiting for. Well, I guess it's the moment I've been waiting for. But regardless...

The preorders will last until March 15. "Why should I preorder?" you might ask yourself. Well, the big reason is to help support a comic that you like. Getting these t-shirts printed is an investment on my part, but by preordering you can help me front the cost of these shirts. Another reason is that this design is pretty nifty, and I'm sure you'll be the envy of everyone when you wear it. Now if that's not a good enough reason, I don't know what is.

Now I'm going to go sleep off this nasty cold I've developed. Have a great weekend.

2/18/10 - ...aaaand we've come full circle.

I had hoped to make more progress on getting the t-shirt finalized for preorders, but I'm still dealing with getting my taxes in order. Katie and I are kicking ourselves for being lax in our record-keeping this past year. However, I'm pretty close to the final design, so I'm hoping Thursday we'll be able to start preorders.

I've also been trying to finalize my con appearances for this year. I'll be hitting some new ones now that I'm on the East Coast, so stay tuned for news on that.

Now to finish my tea and get some much deserved sleep. See you Thursday!

2/18/10 - It was worth a shot.

My apologies to anyone who tried to see the voting incentive on Monday and got a little red "x". Stupidly I had forgotten to actually upload the picture. But I still thank you for those votes, and it's there now for viewing.

There is another "The Process" article over at Bardic Musings. This time I'm talking about putting together a characters page for your website.

No further developments on the t-shirt, but I hope to have the design finalized this weekend and a price quote. If all goes well, pre-orders will open next week. I'm excited because this is the first t-shirt I've done in about 2 years.

2/15/10 - The Professor's teasing continues.

Brace yourself, this will be a long one. First off, there's a new voting incentive. I received some awesome fan art of Professor Merrit in her Garden Celebration outfit, and I wanted to share it with you guys. Click on the vote button below to take a look at it (and to help me get back a little higher in the rankings).

Second, I will be doing pre-orders on a new t-shirt design soon. Well, an old one, really, but it's new. Some of you may remember the old "If you give me cookies I'll believe anything t-shirts". Well, it's version 2.0 time. The below is a quick mock-up of what they'll look like:

The estimated cost will be about $18.00 (plus shipping), but I have to get a price quote first before I set that in stone. So if this is something you'd be interested in, start saving now!

Lastly, I need to address an issue that came up this past weekend. There was a slight altercation between myself and a reader, which led to me banning him from the shoutbox. I don't like banning people from anything, but if the situation calls for it I will. I had told him to drop the argument that he was carrying on or I'd ban him, and he didn't, so I followed through.

Most, if not all, of you know that I'm a very patient person. It takes a lot to really get me riled up. But there are a few things that I won't stand for, and those include willful ignorance, insults, and a lack of tact. I don't mind debating things, but A.) don't do it in the shoutbox (you can be more articulate in the forum), B.) do it TACTFULLY and RESPECTFULLY, and C.) if I ask you to drop it, please heed my wishes.

I hope that this is a situation that won't occur again, but it's the internet, so anything can happen.

2/4/10 - I have the feeling that Crystal may lose some fans here.

Sorry about the lack of communication from me this week. Work was pretty busy, as was life outside of work. But I'm sure you all survived.

To let you in on my personal life, Katie and I will be celebrating our 9 year dating anniversary this weekend (starting tomorrow, the official day). We celebrate that because neither of us are fans of Valentine's day, and this is more personal. And I tell you all this because there's a slim chance of a delayed comic. But I'll do what I can to make sure it doesn't happen.

That being said, I can't wait to show you guys Monday's strip. Gonna be a good one to watch the responses to. So until then, enjoy the Super Bowl and have a nice weekend!

2/1/10 - The seriousness continues.

To any of you out there who are planning on running a webcomic as a business, let me give you some very important advice - be very diligent about your bookkeeping throughout the year so at tax time you aren't doing everything all at once. That's advice that I am going to try to remember for this year. I hate taxes.

By the way, the forum has been pretty dead of late. Feel free to register and light some fire in there. It gets kinda lonely.
