7/29/10 - Look at that, a full color comic. And I only had to stay up until 1:00 am to finish it. Ugh. I'm going to bed now. There's not much to talk about anyway.

7/27/10 - There, a delayed half-colored update is better than nothing. I'm really sorry it's taking so long. It's partly because that first panel took forever to do, but mostly because of all the chores that piled up while Katie and I were prepping for the festival. I'll try my harded to finish up the darn thing and start Thursday's so that one goes up on time.

Now I have a mountain of dishes calling my name.

7/26/10 - Apology #384201... same thing as always: delayed update. I'm wiped out from this weekend (outdoor festivals are so much more grueling than cons) and the strip is a lot more complex than I bargained for. It'll be up by the end of tonight, I promise.

And in case you were wondering, this weekend was a wash-out. We made SOME sales, but it was pretty pitiful. We had to try, though.

7/22/10 - Schoooooooool's out... for... summer!

For those of you in the Rochester, NY area Katie and I will be at Spencerport Canal Days, a fun little arts and crafts festival in Spencerport, NY. Please come by and say hello (and maybe buy something)!

This has been long overdue, but I have a bit of fanart to share with you folks. I have a rather handsome looking Francis here from Hester, and it's a reminder that I REEEEEEEEEALLY need to update my fan art section.

7/19/10 - Looks like the addiction can affect anyone.

Seems like my apologizing to you folks is getting to be a regular thing, but really, sorry for the colorless update. What's my excuse? Katie and I acquired a daughter on Friday. We have a new 5-week-old kitten that has been taking up much of my attention. Perhaps if I share the cutenes with you, you'll understand.

The colors will be done as quickly as possible. Stay tuned to my Twitter and Facebook updates.

7/15/10 - I routinely play guitar for an audience of furniture because they have no eyes in which I will see my failure reflected back at me. Well, unless it's a mirror. Then things get awkward.

Apologies once more for the missed updates. Things got a little crazy for a few weeks there and it overwhelmed me. But I'm back in the saddle and ready to get this summer vacation started for our boys.

I'll have a full-on con report soon, but let me give some shout-outs to some of the awesome people from ConnectiCon. First, there's Alex, who you may know from a little comic called Garanos, and more recently (and I feel bad for not plugging this until now) Alex's Guide to a Life Well-Lived. She and her man Chris carpooled with me and Katie to Hartford and shared sleeping quarters with us. They are awesome people, mostly for putting up with me. Then there was Kevin and Blondie of Caf-fiends who sat behind us and were quite friendly and a pleasure to be near. And I met Christiann, who does Stick Comics, and her partner Jim, both of whom were super nice and both of whom I look forward to seeing again in September (more on that in a minute). And there were familiar faces, like Steph (who I don't currently have a link for, but is still awesome) and Jemi-Linked, both of whom I met at my first year at CTCon three years ago. And of course there are more, including all of my readers who stopped by and said hello and/or bought stuff. Like I said, there will be a full report, I promise.

And on the subject of cons, Katie and I will be appearing at Intervention in Washington DC/Rockville, MD in September! A whole new area for Bardsworth (and Fairy Magik) to explore. So if you're a reader and you're from there, mark your calendars! It looks like it'll be a heck of an event!

I have some fan art to share, too, but I'll wait until Monday to post because this news post is already pretty long. So be prepared! Have yourselves a great weekend and we'll resume things on Monday as per usual.

7/12/10 - As I feared, the new strip is STILL not done. ConnectiCon was busy, busy, busy (but great; there will be a con report soon). So please hold on a little bit longer. Maybe you can consider the extra time off a birthday gift, since my birthday is tomorrow (the 13th)?

In any case, there will DEFINITELY be a strip up on Thursday. So stay tuned!

7/7/10 - Ugh, sorry guys, the comic won't be updated. As it stands, I'll probably be up to 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning finishing getting ready for ConnectiCon. Nothing like making a 5-hour drive on almost no sleep.

Anyway, because I'm so behind, I may not be getting the strip done for Monday, either. I'll try to, but if it comes down to it maybe I'll upload some con sketches or something.

But let's look on the bright side - ConnectiCon! Those of you in the Hartford, CT area should stop by and see me! I'll have cookie t-shirts, cookie plushies, books, and more. And the con is always a blast.

7/5/10 - Hey, I have wifi! For those of you seeing this update early, it's because I figured I'd get it up before I head out to the wedding, because I may not be in a state to update the site when I get back.

Delay warnings are still in effect for the comic, though. I've got Thursdays strip about halfway finished, but we won't be home until Tuesday morning, and we'll be scrambling to get stuff ready for ConnectiCon. The Thursday strip SHOULD go up finished and on time, but I'm just giving you guys a heads up in case it doesn't.

By the way, Oregon is a BEAUTIFUL state, and we've done so much fun stuff since we got here. If any of you readers are Oregonians, you folks are lucky!

7/1/10 - Bah, it's just another book. Or is it?

A word of warning - the next few weeks are going to be non-stop for me. I've got a wedding to go to in Oregon, and then almost immediately afterwards I'll be in Connecticut for ConnectiCon. I'm ahead by one strip at the moment, and I'm hoping to be ahead enough in order not to have to skip any updates, but it may happen. On that subject, Monday's strip is done, but depending on time and internet availability it may not go up until Tuesday. But it WILL go up, I promise.

Oh, almost forgot - I have a new Ask the Author post up in Bardic Musings. I answered some questions regarding Malcolm's and Danyel's punishments. Enjoy!

6/28/10 - What does it say? What does it saaaaaay?!?

Katie and I got accepted into another local art festival, the Hilton Apple Fest in Hilton, NY on October 2 and 3. We're waiting to hear back from a few more shows/conventions that will actually get us out of the state, so I'll keep you updated on those.

In regards to the art shows, they are outdoor art shows, which means Katie and I need to buy a tent. Unfortunately, these tents are rather pricey. I'm not going to ask for donations, having just come off of the donation drive for my laptop, but I do want to take a moment to remind you guys of the stuff in the Bardsworth store. I can't remember if I mentioned recently that I redid the page a bit, but there are a few new things there. And that's all I'll say about that.

6/24/10 - Looks like I've found someone other than Mike to torture.

All right, it seems that I need to explain the actions that have been taken in the strip concerning Malcolm. Bardsworth University considers a "misuse of magic" as a punishable offense. If that misuse escalates to a fight and you are casting harmful spells at other students, it becomes a zero tolerance thing. Had Malcolm been on school grounds, he would have been expelled. The punishment he got may seem harsh, but the zero tolerance rule is to keep students safe. I hope this clears things up. If you still disagree with the decision, take it up with the professors, not me. I don't make the rules.

So I've been toying with the idea of broadcasting my drawing and coloring process over Ustream like some of the other webcomic artists do. Is anyone interested in this? I can't guarantee it'll be exciting or anything, but I'd be willing to do it.

Ugh, it's too humid to think of anything else to write. I'll see you guys on Monday.

6/22/10 - Been a while since we had some good Kris/Fawn sniping.

Again, sorry about the late update folks. I'll try to be better about that.

This is the first of several strips in the storyline's epilogue, and then we enter a new storyline. Yay! And for the first time, the timeline in the comic will match what's going on in the real world (sort of; it'll be off about a month or so).

6/21/10 - Sorry folks, I dropped the ball on today's update. I spent a nice morning/afternoon with my father for Father's day, and then my best friend happened to be in town from California, so I wasn't able to finish the strip. I will definitely have it up by Monday night at the latest. Please forgive me.

In personal news, I'm currently in much pain due to massive sunburn to my face, neck, arms, and legs. This is one of those times that I really hate being pale.

6/17/10 - All right, I swear, that's the last extreme close-up panel I'll do for a while.

A local appearance has been added to my schedule, and that's at the Spencerport Canal Days. For those of you outside of Spencerport, this is a small arts festival that takes place every year along the Erie Canal (look it up on Wikipedia; it has historical significance). We'll be there on July 24 and 25. We're waiting to hear back from a couple of other local arts festivals, and I just sent an application to a rather large convention to see if I can get in. I'll let you know either way.

I should also take this time to announce - since I'm way late in doing it - that the site relaunch of Fairy Magik is official. For those unaware, Fairy Magik is the art studio that Katie and I are building up to show off and sell our artwork. If you're so inclined, feel free to keep tabs on us on Facebook and on Twitter.

And that's all I got for now. Monday we'll head into the first of the last couple of strips of this storyline, and then it's summer vacation for the students! So have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday!
