Last month I visited The Sanctuary Bookshop in Lyme Regis, one of those fantastic and too-rare used book shops crammed to the gills with all sorts of treasure. Along with a few great books, I took home some printed cards of Victorian fairy art ... and now I've cut them up and turned them into crocodiles.

Joel Rust's musical setting of the poem Mt Norwottuck and a Prescription for Citalopram from my first book is being performed in London on April 19th. I've heard it. It's fascinating and weird.

I know, another not-funny one, but you really didn't want to see the alternative, Leave No Tern Unstoned. That could be a joke about throwing rocks at birds, or a joke about birds using drugs. I'm not really a fan of either. So here we are.

The next comic won't appear until mid-January, as I take a break for family and friends and all that important stuff. This is going to include some travel, so anything bought from the poetry page will ship upon my return.

Say, did you know that I've been recruited to provide an illustration for Ryan North's mind-blowing, corpse-in-grave-spinning project?

Also, Nauset, the mini-opera with music by Joel Rust and words by me, recently had another performance in London with Louise Kemeny reprising her performance as the Wife, and you can listen to a recording of it.

Shall I just come out and say it? If you're not sure what you give someone for Christmas, it would be fantastic for all involved if you decided to give them either a copy of my new book of poetry, or one of these postcard sets (read about them here). Giving poetry says: you are a cool, crafty and subtle-minded person who appreciates beauty, and that is a lovely thing to say to someone. Thank-you.

Americans who are reading this: if you are old enough to vote today, please do. I don't live in America right now, but I got myself an absentee ballot, filled it out and sent it in to the good people at the Ludlow, MA town hall. I'm happy to tell you that I voted for Obama, for all the obvious reasons. But the important part is that you vote, you take part. Not sure where to go? This website will tell you, while swearing at you.
