25 February 2010
Hello hello. No new comic yet I'm afraid, but I wanted to announce that a launch reading for
Parsimony has been arranged for Friday
the 5th of March, from 6 to 7:30pm at
Word Power Books in Edinburgh. I realize that this is a rather out of
the way place for most of BF's readership, but if you are in the area please come along and say hi. There will
be reading, and wine, and words, and power.

7 December 2009
One last sales pitch and then I'll shut up. This Christmas season, why not
give the gift of (my) poetry?
My daring publishers and I promise that your money won't go toward evil, which is more
than can be said for basically everything you might buy in a mall.
And they have a
sale on, with extra savings if you buy two or more books.

16 November 2009
What makes a perfect gift that special literate someone, that moody mistress of the mistletoe,
that friend of the arts who you can't ever find something for? How about one of
these fine postcard sets?

And if you'd like to buy a t shirt
before Christmas, you’ll want to have a look at the
shipping deadlines.

Thanks as always for the support.

2 November 2009
Some years ago I got an email from a reader asking for my blessing to work on a Buttercup Festival video game.
Whatever became of it? Well, it remains unfinished, but this video
will give you an idea of what the creator, Lazarus, had in mind. And an anonymous reader has submitted
a batch of BF icons. Enjoy.

27 August 2009
A recent collaboration with friend and illustrator
Laurie Hastings
is available in the form of a 6-postcard set,
As We Make Our Way Home. As I'll be shipping these myself, I am happy to sign, personalize or
whatever them.
And have I mentioned that
I have a book? I’m just so excited.

I know that updates have been a bit lax around here lately but I'm going to make that up to you in the next few weeks.
Thanks for reading, everyone.

21 August 2009
Hi all, next week's comic won't be up until mid-week. See you then!

17 August 2009
My book of poems is now available from
Two Ravens Press.
It's called Parsimony, and, while I guess this is an obvious thing to say, I hope you buy a copy.
It has a lot of Buttercup Festival's soul in it. You can even play the spot-the-BF-reference game: two poems
lift lines from different strips, one old and one new. And you get bonus points for spotting the Calvin and Hobbes
reference.

No new strip today, but here's another drawing from The Renaming of the Birds, and I'll have some new
BF for you next week, plus other updates and changes.
