There have been 26 arrests in 19 months for possession and distribution of child pornography in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, an alarming four of them were cruise ship crew members, each of them having called at American ports before arriving in Halifax.

Why is there such a problem with child pornography distribution in Halifax and why is this city of 300,000+ leading the fight to clean up the cruise ship kiddy porn trade?

A cruise ship employee has been charged in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with possession of child pornography. Nyoman Putra, 26, from Indonesia was arrested after Canada Border Services Agency officers inspecting crew members disembarking the Carnival Cruise Line' Carnival Glory found child pornography on his laptop computer.

"My first stop was Rio's even before my luggage was brought to the cabin. As I had a rumbling tummy and no clothes to change into, the Brazilian steakhouse buffet was perfect. No need to dress up and a smorgasbord of meat on the thirty-foot buffet is okay with me. Hand carved cuts of meat were served generously. Sandwiches and wraps as well as a great salad and side selection made for an excellent lunch. Rio's is also open for breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of offerings during those meals. The only thing that I might complain about was the feeling of being a bit uncomfortable with the chefs/servers who were cutting and serving the meat. A bit loud and flirty, I tried to avoid having to approach them. I believe that a little more professionalism could have been had in this area. Everything else about Rio's gets a thumbs up..."

Kaloyan Gerogie Kaloyanov - Bail Increased To $500,000 For Alleged Rapes

After being arrested aboard Carnival Splendor earlier this month for the alleged rape of a girl Kaloyan Gerogie Kaloyanov was giving gymnastic training to back in 2000, bail had been set at an odd $20,000. The bail was odd, because after telling police at an interview he had sex with the girl, he fled the country and was on the run for eight years.

The past four years the Bulgarian had worked aboard Carnival Cruise Line's ships as a fitness instructor then more recently as a hairdresser.

The bail was changed to "no bail" as the former gymnast awaited transfer back to Alameda County California where he is to stand trial for the crimes. After being moved back to Alameda County, the bail was raised to a more reasonable $500,000.

More details have emerged about the incidents with the girl.

Bringing our total page views over 8.3 million since we launched the site on December 13, 2005. Given we don't have any community forums like the other big cruise industry sites, those 8.3 million page views and 2 million unique visitors who each viewed an average of four pages per visit are very significant. It tells us that our content is relevant, that the audience is wide and diverse and we are making an impact when it comes to educating the public.
