This encounter is pretty much just as mysterious in the original DMC. I like that I can put the bafflement I felt at the time into Ulala's reaction here, as in the game Dante just seems to carry on as if this sort of thing is always happening to him. Which, to be fair, it probably is.

Just in case this is confusing: Ulala has been wearing Dante's jacket tied around her waist all along, and it's red. So taking it off and using it like a matador's cloak makes perfect sense! Kind of.

So, the 16th of December was the 10th anniversary of Space Channel 5. Since Tin is traditionally associated with a 10th Wedding anniversary, and since the alchemical symbol for Tin is the same as the symbol for Jupiter, the most appropriate thing to draw is clearly Ulala cosplaying as Sailor Jupiter. I note (not being familiar with the series myself) that Sailor Jupiter is said to have both masculine and feminine characteristics, making it particularly apt for DMD, and I also had to use the transformation pose as that's a pretty important theme for DMD too! I'm still not feeling 100% but managed to get this done.

The disparity between how fast I publish these pages and how fast they 'should' be read is particularly sharp in a scene like this, which really needs to be raced through to keep the momentum going properly. When it's done I recommend going back and reading it through at pace!
