The two bits of information implied on the previous page were that this person knows Pudding, but they also presumably know about soul swapping enough to ask for for the year and a mirror. Well, with this page we have another interesting data-point!

So now we get down to the detective work, and I finally make explicit the design of the soul-swapping device after alluding to it for nearly four years!

2010 February 16th

And so at last we return to Dante, who raises a very important question: if the whole point of him playing along was to recover the soul swapping device, why shouldn't he just swap himself back as soon as he has it?

Get all that? So Cam-B's theory is shot down right away, but he nicely introduces the kind of complications we may find ahead!

2009 February 2nd

This encounter is pretty much just as mysterious in the original DMC. I like that I can put the bafflement I felt at the time into Ulala's reaction here, as in the game Dante just seems to carry on as if this sort of thing is always happening to him. Which, to be fair, it probably is.

I've just spent some time tweaking the major plot threads that will play out over the remainder of DMD. Things are going to get quite strange, and I'm very excited about that!

2010 January 12th

Just in case this is confusing: Ulala has been wearing Dante's jacket tied around her waist all along, and it's red. So taking it off and using it like a matador's cloak makes perfect sense! Kind of.

Well, happy new year! This is why I had to put something else up during the holiday period as it wouldn't be fair to leave Ulala in that much peril.

2009 December 22nd

So, the 16th of December was the 10th anniversary of Space Channel 5. Since Tin is traditionally associated with a 10th Wedding anniversary, and since the alchemical symbol for Tin is the same as the symbol for Jupiter, the most appropriate thing to draw is clearly Ulala cosplaying as Sailor Jupiter. I note (not being familiar with the series myself) that Sailor Jupiter is said to have both masculine and feminine characteristics, making it particularly apt for DMD, and I also had to use the transformation pose as that's a pretty important theme for DMD too! A bigger version can be found in my DeviantArt gallery.

Also, if you like SC5 fanart, be sure to check out Ian's excellent tribute video montage here!

2009 December 15th

Only one more DMD update before Christmas! Hmm, perhaps I should draw something different to the page that comes after this. It's not nice to have pics of Ulala in mortal peril during the festive period.

2009 December 1st

I'm still not feeling 100% but managed to get this done.

The disparity between how fast I publish these pages and how fast they 'should' be read is particularly sharp in a scene like this, which really needs to be raced through to keep the momentum going properly. When it's done I recommend going back and reading it through at pace!
