Fun Fact: Beluosus' current look takes eight layers in Photoshop to achieve. This is officially too many layers for a single character. Someone feel free to slap me the next time I think that a partially transparent character is a good idea.

Went to TCAF this past weekend! I wasn't there exhibiting, just wandered around and went to panels. Nice change of pace for me, since all I usually get to see of a convention is the area immediately surrounding my booth and the path to the washroom! I also got to have a fun evening out with Nicole of Fey Winds, Isabelle & Megan of Namesake, and Ran & Cory of The End, all of whom are lovely people that you should say hi to at any convention you happen to meet them at!

And sorry about it just being a title page today, but, well, that's the way the webcomic cookie crumbles! And hey, I put a fair bit of time painting this sucker, so yeah! ;)

Hope everyone had a great Free Comic Book Day and/or Star Wars Day on Saturday! My kidlets and I came away with a good haul (and bought a few too, of course!), but man, bringing your kids to a cramped comic book store on a day that's SUPER busy? Not quite as much fun as you'd think. Well, it's probably exactly as much fun as you'd think.

Sorry about the update being a day late, but with the convention this past weekend and all the travelling associated therewith, it couldn't be helped! I think this page is worth the wait though ;)

I had a fun time at the convention, getting to meet up with my loverly comic buds that I only get to see once or twice a year, and getting to meet so many readers! I actually sold out of the Vol.I copies I brought, which has never happened before (not complaining).

Also! I got to give Wil Wheaton one of the "Team Wesley" pins that I sell when he happened to wander by my booth! I barely restrained myself from doing a Kermit flail. He is just as nice as everyone says he is, btw!

DUE TO THE CONVENTION, EARTHSONG WILL UPDATE TUESDAY APRIL 30, thanks for understanding!

Apologies for yet another text heavy page. I had considered putting them both up at once, but I didn't want anyone to glaze over the info presented, as it's rather plot important. In case you're still a little on the "buh?" side of things about regarding the Stars/Sidera in the ES universe, you can check out Zaebos' Sidera infographic on TWC ;)

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo is this weekend! And I got a bit of good news last week, my How Deep Is The Ocean? piece got into the Artbook! First time I've ever been in one, so I'm pretty stoked. I'm at booth K03 in the Artist Alley - not too far away from the Webcomic section actually, which is nice. I am seriously looking forward to actually talking to people over the age of six. Come say hi to me if you're in the neighbourhood :D

This page took FOREVER and a day, but I actually had a lot of fun with it, so I'm not really complaining. Not entirely.

If you'd like to see the central scene a bit larger and without the sfx and other panels blocking it up, you can do so HERE. The page is definitely a bit cluttered, but it's supposed to be a scene of chaos, so the clutter helps with that feeling I think. But it also covers up a good chunk of my work! And sucks to that.

VOTE INCENTIVE: The conclusion to Neuria's Choose Your Own Adventure! I was kind of surprised that you guys went for B over C, but hey, it was your choice to make! So gimme a vote to find out if you chose... wisely.

I think I'll do another one of these in a few weeks! They're fun, but I need a bit of time to plot out the next one. I've got the glimmer of an idea which I think you'll like! (And no, it's not a Tristram adventure. I think that these are more interesting with the minor characters.)

If I had to pick a character that I identify most with in Earthsong, it would be Nanashi. (Please don't let that make you afraid to come talk to me at a convention.) I find that most other people feel that she is too controlling, too unforgiving, too this, too that - and I don't argue with them, because they're right. She IS all those things. But she's all those things for very important reasons.

Anyhow. Just wanted to throw some support out there for my fellow uptight and overly worried fictional sister ;)

VOTE INCENTIVE: I finished my piece for the "Weird Tales" art book, and for once something I did came out even better than I wanted it too! And that's not bragging, that's me being honestly surprised - I'm generally dissatisfied with most everything I draw. Oh, we artist types, we are stuffed to the gills with self-doubt and anxiety. Anyhow! In case you're curious, the text on the page comes from an old Irving Berlin song - I listened to the Frank Sinatra version of it frequently while working on it.

In case you missed it last Thursday, I just wanted to say thank you again to those who donated to my little monster's piano lessons fundraiser! Your dollars are being put to good use! And don't forget that we are now back to once a week updates (sorry!).

And just in case you're curious, the Egyptian-inspired new arrivals DO have names. They won't come up in the comic at all, but for those of you who like details such as this anyhow, their names are Maatkare (bird), Sinuhe (jackal), and Ptahhotep (cat).

VOTE INCENTIVE: I, like many a webcomic artist, am a borderline hermit. I pretty much only leave the house to get groceries and take my kids to school. Barring that, I dwell in my art cave, wearing whatever suits my no-one-can-see-me fancy. Sometimes I look at myself and think "Wow. It's a shame that no one can see just how AMAZINGINGLY ridiculous I look right now because I would be super good for a laugh". I'm not even kidding. So!... I drew you a picture. Of me. Wearing an outfit that I have honest to goodness worn while drawing this comic.

You may commence being afraid. Or amused. I'm fine with either.
