Sorry for the late update, everyone. Since I'm going out of town in about two weeks, I've been putting in a lot of hours at work. Con preparation is also going on here. I have been working up a lot of fanart and original art alike. You can see most of what I've produced either on Emeraldwinter.net or my DeviantArt page. If you're interested in purchasing, it's possible to do that even if you won't be at Megacon. Just send me a note or email 100series@gmail.com about what you'd like to get.

What is going on in these last few pages is purposefully vague. I want the readers (you guys) to have about as much idea of what as going on as Rien actually does, so that you won't be bored as things continue to unfold. The problem with this style of telling the story is that Emerald Winter only updates once per week. Between updates, readers tend to try and fill in the blanks and draw their own conclusions. These assumptions can make the story stop making sense to them.

So, in light of that, let me explain a little bit of what is going on. In Emerald Winter, there is a realm of the living and a realm of the dead. Rien alludes to this in the conversation about Leon's grief. Rien, like most rational people in his world, believes that the dead can't iteract on the mortal coil with living people. However, this is quite false as the necromancers in this story arc illustrate.

Emerald Winter deals with enemies who are beyond the mortal coil, or who are stuck between worlds. Even though the enemy might be dead, that doesn't mean the battle is over. I hope this helps to explain the events which occurred, hopefully without giving away the entire plot, haha.

Sunday, Janurary 17th

As I'm sure you've noticed, this page is not new. But last update, I promised a big conclusion and getting on with the story, and all that! Well, life just kicked us (Brandon and I) in the teeth again. Not hard. Long story short, a relative died and we had to go out of town on short notice. We're back home now, and we're both fine.

Now I am scrambling to get both Emerald Winter and Lavender Legend books prepared for Megacon (a convention in Orlando, FL) in March. The Emeral Winter book will be what I've started calling the "convention edition" which has no new content, but is formatted to attract more readers to the site. When Emerald Winter's first story is done (we're about 80% there), I'll create a printed version of the whole chapter with improved art, extra content, and all that good stuff.

Page 81 is finally up. I've been pretty beat lately because of the burden of holidays, but I did lay out a lot of ground work for new pages. I will try to maintain a weekly Tuesday update schedule. This is setting my schedule back a good deal, but I think this is the best schedule I can keep to at this point in time.

I can't believe it's been almost a month since the last update already! Rawwrg. There have been a lot of crazy things going on here. I'm doing my best to get this chapter finished by the end of Jan. 2010. If so, then I'll be able to sell the book at Megacon in March. That is my goal right now, and with holidays in December, it's going to be tough. The update-on-Tuesday schedule has not been working so well since I started my job, so for the next couple months I will be updating ASAP, whenever I finish a page. Hopefully this will be more than once a week or I'll never meet my goal!

But hey, despite all the problems, this page is number 80! I always like to celebrate when I get to a new set of numbers, haha.
