Backing Up Your Data - Tools and strategies for protecting your organization against data loss

Regular backups are vital insurance against a data-loss catastrophe. Unfortunately, this is a lesson that most people learn only from bitter experience.
November Tech Tip of the Day

As you finish up the last bag of Halloween candy you swore you wouldn't eat, your mind lazily wanders to thoughts of Thanksgiving. Images of happy family members gathered around the table as you give thanks for being in each other's lives bring a smile to your face. A big turkey dinner with sweet potatoes and yam flashes through your mind, oh! and those buttermilk biscuits calling your name, you feel warm and gooey inside. With the warm glow emanating from your being you decide, "Gosh Darn it! I'm cooking Thanksgiving Dinner THIS YEAR!" You quickly grab the phone and invite family and friends over and they enthusiastically say, "Yes, we'd love to!" Hurray! This will be great! You quickly begin your shopping list knowing full well that a successful holiday dinner requires much preparation.

That same enthusiasm takes place in the Tech world. Yes folks, its true. Thanksgiving is a time where techies and non-techies alike, share ideas and look for special deals or support. Interestingly enough ZDnet shares the same enthusiasm. They recently wrote an article titled: Thanksgiving tech support survival kit - 2011 Edition, "Prepare in advance for the inevitable 'Turkey Day' tech support requests. <a

October Tech Tip of the Day

Okay, so you just got home from a long day at work. Your boss wasn't so friendly; your co-worker became an IDO savant overnight. All you want to do is sit down and have your diner in peace and quite. All of SUDDEN...the phone rings! Now you know you called your mother already once today and it's not like your friends are calling you out to party, its Tuesday! So you sit there and wonder mystified. For a brief second you try to ignore the rings..."Maybe it'll stop after the third ring", you think to yourself. A brief moment of silence then bam! There it goes off again, ringing away! So you get up and reluctantly walk over to the phone. You pick up the reciever, slowly lifting it up to your ear ever so slightly wincing, almost a afraid of what you are about to hear, suddenly a nasally voice says..."Hi, this Chrissie from..." You cringe! IT'S THE DREADED TELEPHONE MARKETER!

Don't you wish you had listened to your mother when she told you to register your number from unwanted solicited calls? Help us help you, click on Do Not Call Registry then go, enjoy your dinner in peace and harmony and avoid possible indigestion from having listened to Chrissie.
September's Tech Tip of the Day

Your morning alarm goes off waking you from your previous night's slumber. You slowly rise from your bed and notice a cloudy morning through your bedroom window. You reach over to your nightstand and grab the remote. Your first thought, "Oh great! Looks like rain, ugh! What's the weather channel again?" As your eyes try to focus on the overly enthusiastic weather man waving his hands in big circular motions around a radar map of the U.S. and blinking red panels with National Advisory messages scrolling across the T.V. screen; you force yourself to listen more closely. With a little help from our overly zealous weatherman you start to realize "this ain't no ordinary storm".

While Bob here, only has to worry about getting to work, as a business owner you know that natural disasters such as storms and earthquakes can severely impact or hurt your business.

Don't let this happen to you, safeguard your data, be prepared, safety is survival. Ensure that your business has a Disaster Recovery plan in place.

Visit our News & Resources Page for more Tech Tips!
