First of all, yes, I know that all homonyms are technically homophones, but that would be boring to explain as a comic.

Awwww! I feel kind of bad for the Homonym Vampire and his very silly power! He doesn't explain it in this comic, but he's a close relative of the Homophone Vampire (sometimes called the Heterograph Vampire).

I feel like I could do some more work with linguistics/grammar jokes and supernatural creatures. Like exploring the family tree of the Interrogative Wherewolf: the Whenwolf, the Whatwolf, the Whowolf, the Whichwolf, and the lesser-known Whitherwolf (among others).

...actually, I think I will do that. Now to begin brainstorming!

Seriously, though, the Stop Online Piracy Act is actually kind of a big deal.

Obviously, this is a ridiculous caricature of how SOPA might actually operate. But then again, given how vague and uniformed the language of the bill is, it does enable a kind of legal share-bashing that can't intelligently distinguish between reasonable public conversation and outright piracy.

Anyway, in case you haven't done so already, I strongly recommend you do your own reading on SOPA and the Protect IP Act. I found this reddit article to be very informative, even if it is from a source with a stake in the issue.

Please, find a source you trust and read up. If we're pirates, then these are our seas they're legislating. Make sure you understand the changes that are being discussed.

Seriously, though, frankincense and myrrh are actually just plant resin. And yes, the three (reportedly) wise men probably had reasonable justifications for choosing these symbolic gifts and all that, but did they really think the God-baby needed more than one kind of expensive tree gum?

I mean, I rarely find myself in a position where I'm forced to say, "Damn, if I only had obtained multiple kinds of resin prior to that situation, things might have turned out differently."
