Slip away in a van
Well that is it! The final page of this chapter! Don't worry, there will be more Cy-Boar action soon. BUT first, I've got a couple more stories in the works! Next up is a Scorpianna tale that I've been working on with Jim Stewart! It is stuffed full of action!

Yesterday (April 25) I went to the Small Press Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE) w my bud Steve Harrison ( www.fabricari.com ) .

I traded some mini comics w artists and talked to just about everyone.
What made this con stand out was that it was all small creator owned comics...not the usual Spider man and Batman stuff.
I ended up leaving with no comics left to trade and no money in my wallet!

Very inspirational!

Page 23: (ALTERNATE ENDING) Panel 1: Denison looking into the outer office with an annoyed look on his face. Denison: Hey girl? Where’d you get to? Panel 2: Stealth walks into the office with a bunch of heavily armed security officers and another senator Denison: Oh! Thank god you’re here! There is a monster in my office! We’ve gotta get it quick! Panel 3: The officers cuff Denison Officer: You are under arrest Sir. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a … Denison: What are you crazy? I’m a United States Senator! Panel 4: Stealth holds up an audio recorder and plays it with an angry sort of smug expression on her face: “You’re a loose end that we wanted closed, so, I decided to kill two birds with one stone! I programmed you to kill Mason to highlight our need to continue the Animal warrior program, as well as to get rid of the both of you! With him out of the way, I knew I could get back my position as the head of the Military Expenditures Sub-Committee.” Panel 5: Denison looking shocked and struggling to get free as the guards grab his arms. Denison : How? This is not possible! It’s that Boar’s fault! I was set up! Panel 6: Cy-Boar and his friends are all safely driving away in the back of a van. Haha! You should have seen the look on his face! I can’t believe you pulled it off! Cy-Boar: It’s not over yet. We’ve gotta find out what he was trying to fund. He was just the tip of the iceburg… VERSION 2: Another alternate ending Page 22 Panel 1: Stealth looks in from outer office: Stealth: Sir, whats’ going on in there? Security is on it’s way! Cy-Boar in pain on the ground: NO! You can’t get away with this! Stealth: My God! Denison!: Hah! You’re pathetic! I’m a senator! You will never get the best of me! Panel 2: Cy shakes his fist at Denison as he opens the window while Denison smirks and confidently struts out waving dismissively. Cy-Boar: I’ll get you somehow! Denison: Hahah! You’ll never get out of here alive! Panel 3: At the entrance to the Senate, Stealth is pleading with a security agent. Over the guard’s shoulder, Stealth can see Denison approaching the podium. Stealth: You’ve gotta let me in there right away! It’s a matter of national security. Senate Guard: Sorry Ma’am! You don’t have a pass to be in this area. Go back with your tour group or… Senate Guard: …We’re going to escort you out of here if you…. Panel 4: Denison at the podium Denison: Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate, I come before you this morning with a matter of grave importance… Panel 5: A closer shot of Denison at the podium looking concerned: Denison: …federal agents have collaborated with the bizarre monster that killed senator Mas- (These words are in a small font. Denison’s microphone has been cut off) Denison Recording: “…so, I decided to kill two birds with one stone! I programmed you to kill Mason to highlight our need to continue the Animal warrior program, as well as to get rid of the both of you! …” ENDING # 1 Panel 6: An even closer shot of Denison at the podium looking really concerned: Denison Recording: “…With him out of the way, I knew I could get back my position as the head of the Military Expenditures Sub-Committee.” Panel 7:Squirrel, inside the podium, rewired the microphone somehow to play the digital recording. Page 23: Actual ending: Panel 1: The Senators look at Denison in shock. Ranking Senator: Guards! Arrest him! Panel 2: Denison looking shocked and struggling to get free as the guards grab his arms. Denison : How? This is not possible! It’s that Boar’s fault! I was set up! Panel 3: Cy-Boar and his friends are all safely driving away in the back of a van. Haha! Microphone switcheroo
I've been anticipating this page for years, but it was a lot harder to work out once I got to it. All of the motivations and sneeking had to actually make sense... I tried to rewrite it a few times, and then redrew it out a few times before I was happy with it.

Damn that Judy!
This page was interesting because I needed to show Pounder and Stealth, but not on their usual costumes. It's easy to represent people in comics with elaborate costumes, but when those same characters actually change clothes, it gets trickier. One rule I try to follow is that I try to keep my characters color coordinated when they change their look. For example, Pounder always wears a green shirt, Stealth is wearing a blackish suit, and when I draw Kalya always wears pink (even though she has no set uniform).

Fire Side Chat
This has to be the most talking that I've ever shown in a page of Cy-Boar, but I'm still somehow happy with it. I like the idea of the characters being cold and wet and lounging around on a couch...
