Today sees the inauguration of the SASDC Board!

On Thursday 10 February, the SASDC’s final Executive Committee meeting took place. The objective of this meeting was to finalize preparations for the Final Steering Committee Meeting and the SASDC’s Inaugural Board meeting, both convened on Friday 11 February.

The primary focus of today's final Steering Committee is to ensure a consolidated and comprehensive handover of all SASDC-related matters (both concluded and to be concluded) to the Board of Directors. To date, all SASDC progress has been guided and directed by the advice and input of a committed Steering Committee. However, with the inauguration of the SASDC Board today, the Steering Committee will officially be dissolved and its responsibilities handed to the Board.

It has indeed been an exciting week for the SASDC! Today’s Board proceedings will very much guide the direction of the Council’s activities going forward, and we thank both Steering Committee as well as Board members for their commitment and support, both past and to come!

<p> On 20 January 2011 saibl and Barloworld-Equipment (BWE) held a meeting for the purpose of discussing a new co-operative agreement that will aim to increase BWE's number of black owned suppliers (including black women owned suppliers) and increase their annual procurement spend. saibl will honor this agreement by conducting Picking Sound Company evaluations, Company Diagnostics (CD) and interventions arising from the CD findings.
